Last Friday, the State Board of Education approved a percentage distribution of the Permanent School Fund of 3.3 percent for fiscal years 2014 and 2015.  The distribution is expected to generate about $830 million each fiscal year to fund instructional materials and general education expenses for the public school system. 

The $25 billion Permanent School Fund is the largest K-12 endowment in the nation.
